Participants will explore the historical context, pharmacology, and therapeutic implications of Ketamine, alongside comprehensive guidance on the practice and principles of Psychedelic Psychotherapy. With an emphasis the significance of set and setting in patient preparation for KAP, our team will support you with variety of resources, workshops & video. Get ready for interactive sessions, including role plays of PTSD, TRD, and Anxiety presentations, designed to enhance practical understanding and integration of these techniques. Through these exercises and detailed stage-by-stage breakdowns, attendees will gain practical insights and skills necessary for working effectively within this therapeutic framework.

    • Psychopharmacology: Mechanism of drug action, Plasticity, functional brain changes
    • Medical and Off-Label uses of Ketamine
    • History of Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy
    • Drug Scheduling
    • Research and Off-Label use of Ketamine – Current Indications
    • Psychedelic Effects on the Brain and Body – Working with Dissociation

Day 2 - Saturday (9:30 AM - 5:00 PM)

    • Key principles of Psychedelic Psychotherapy
    • Importance of Set and Setting
    • New concepts in the Treatment of Mental Health
    • Preparing patient for KAP
      • Teaching Ordinary State Skills (OSS)
      • Teaching Expanded State Skills (ESS)

Detailed Review of Four Stages of KAP:

  • Video demonstration and role-play of each stage of treatment
    1. Onboarding, Educating, and Orienting
    2. Preparations for KAP (Psychological and Medical Assessment)
    3. Dose Sessions
    4. Aftercare

Dr. Dawn DeCunha is a clinical psychologist with more than two decades of experience in trauma informed assessment and treatment. She is evolving her work from trauma informed to psychedelically informed and brings cutting edge, novel and disruptive treatment paradigms to the traditional sphere of evidence based psychological assessment and treatment of vulnerable populations. She is a fully qualified trainer and mentor of therapists practicing Psychedelic Assisted Psychotherapy.
